ELIGIBILITY:
Graduate in any discipline.
Recognized by AICTE and Affiliated to Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Approved by Govt. of Orissa Approved intake: 80 Duration: 2 years Full-time
As per the norms laid by AICTE, Government of India, IPSAR admits students who have passed graduation and qualified in entrance examinations like MAT conducted by AIMA, New Delhi , JEE by Govt of Orissa and CET OMCA conducted by the Orissa Management Colleges Association. The students may appear in JEE to be conducted either by Orissa Govt. or BPUT sometime during May. The successful candidates shall be called by JEE Admission Committee for appearing in the Counseling.

MAT is conducted 4 times in a year: February, May ,September and December. A candidate willing to study at IPSAR should indicate his/her preference in the MAT Application Form. After qualifying at the written test, the candidate should send his/her test score to IPSAR. Candidates would be asked to appear in an GD/VIVA based on a short-list prepared by IPSAR. For convenience of the candidates, IPSAR conducts GD/VIVA at different centers in India.

Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by OMCA (Orissa Management Collage Association) shall be conducted sometime in May and successful candidates shall appear college level/ central counseling for selection and admission. The above selection procedures are being introduced as per guidelines of AICTE.

On the Job Training
During the course of practical Training, if an Employer accepts the Trainee to join the same organization with a stipend, such students are encouraged by IPSAR to takeup the assignment at least for a period of six months.
Field Experience
Since MBA is a professional course, practical exposure to various facets of management like sales & marketing, office administration, financial accounting and bookkeeping, project management is essential. As the trend to recruit a fresher is on decline, field experience during the programme would enhance the scope of lateral entries in jobs, which require at least some experience. Every year we are approached by a number of business entities to provide adequate number of students to help them to launch products, conduct market surveys, promote brands, concept selling, conduct brand and product opinionsurveys. We provide such opportunities under our‘EARNWHILE LEARN SCHEME’ & ‘MARKET RESEARCHAND SURVEY’ with suitable compensation package.

Course Structure
The course is to be completed in 6 terms. The package consists of 25 core courses designed to provide basic knowledge of concepts, tools and techniques in various functional areas and relevant disciplines. The 6 weeks compulsory training in Industrial and Business organization follows the first year course work. Details on findings of this training will be presented during 4th term. This summer training is aimed at providing exposure to real life working environment. Students are required to work on specific, time bound organization related assignments. The second year academic work, spread over three terms, comprises of 8 core courses and 7 electives. These provide students the opportunity to develop in-depth understanding and concentration in areas of their special interests. The students can take up 4 papers from the major group one paper from the minor group and 2 courses in Sectoral Management as electives out of the total of 7 electives.
Unique Academic Method
The autonomous Institutes conducting PGDBM Course normally have about twenty papers in their course curricula. But BPUT has adopted thirty written papers in their MBA programme @5 per trimester. 50% of the marks allotted in each subject is evaluated through two written Tests conducted by the faculties of the institution. Quiz and project work for each paper and finally dissertation has to be submitted before each end trimester. BPUT aims at consistently updating its curricula to keep it up to the level of IIM standard. Each subject will have 2 classes in a week with each class of 1hr 30minutes duration. Depending on need of the students each class can have a lecture for 1 hr. and 0.5 hr practical.
